i'm a stallion!

watched shrek 2 at lido this evening with the youths. all 11 of us. vicky, josh, wenhao, shan, mel, lynn, denice, theodore, chang yuh, jon and i. and thankies to vicky for the donkey cushion from bk! it's sitting on my bed now.... *wink*

the show was so hilarious! all that i expected it to be. the starting was funny, yet it failed to tickle my funny bone a little. came to a conclusion after the show: they should never show trailers. i think the trailers gave away some laughter-worthy spots, and because it was expected, i just couldn't really enjoy the jokes. but nevertheless, the momentum of the show picked up as it went on, and towards the mid-point of the show, we were already in bouts of laughter, right to the end, past the credits to the post-credits segment. and also when a little boy in the theatre shouted "kiss" when shrek was going to kiss princess fiona. it was so cute! pure innocence!

i applaude the makers of this movie. not for its animation, but for its witty spoofs and jabs at what we are so familiar with. from the hollywood-lookalike sign, to the donkey-turned-stallion shaking its mane like a pantene shampoo ad, to the pig-wearing-bikini pork illustrated mag. who would have expected such spoofs to be incorporated in a single animated film and make it so interesting for non-children (who would probably not understand the hidden jokes)? they have got me looking forward to shrek 3.

after the show, we went for dinner at scotts foodcourt. and once again, had our portion of jokes and chattering.

a question was popped by wenhao. and a hilarious answer by denice, followed by a comment by either chang yuh or theodore (can't remember). i paraphrased the conversation a little. can't recall word for word account.

wenhao: so when the donkey drank the magic potion (which is supposed to change the one who drinks it and his/her true love into something better/more handsome/prettier), what happens to the dragon?

denice: oh yah hor! i know! it becomes a dragonfly! (apparently, denice thinks a dragonfly is better-looking than a dragon.)

cy / theo: but then... the dragon can fly already what?!

oh, by the way, when a dragon and a donkey has children... what are their offsprings called? according to denice, they are called DRAKEYS!

took this photo during lunch at delifrance when i was at causeway point last thursday. it's not often i am found in the north and/or west of singapore. was so bored after my client meeting that i decided to plonk myself on the sofa with my chicken mayo baguette sandwich, tea and biscotti, and note the things i have to remind myself of what i discussed at my client's office.
