a touch from God

i'm finally home! not that i was missing home or anything, but i finally have a good long sleep. the past few days have been such a blast! starting from friday... i have been kept busy since. (therefore the lack of blog entries.) it is going to be a really really long post because so many things have happened over the weekend. here's a major-events account of my past weekend... and it's heartwarming to see how God is glorified in everything we do!

friday

went to a client's place the whole morning and afternoon. i truly learnt patience. it is one thing to teach a user how to use a software, and it's another thing to teach a user how to use the software in MANDARIN. i guess this is the problem in working with sample room and technical people in the fashion and apparel industry. these are usually the mandarin/dialect-speaking people, and which my limited mandarin capability, i had somewhat a tough time trying to get my thoughts across. but thankfully, they understand what i was talking about and all's well.

headed off to suntec to meet lynn and jon. (was supposed to meet shan too, but she left early for work and i arrived late.) went to Yes! and got my gucci sunglasses. another item slashed off my want-to-buy list. that is my birthday pressie to myself, after getting my pay. i have been holding back for almost a year from buying them. had to endure the hot scorching sun every day, thinking to myself: when should i buy them? i was always trying to look for a particular model but at a lower price. the prices i had seen were around $170-$220. just when i walked into Yes! two weeks ago, i saw a newer model at only $160, and i immediately told jon that i'm going to get that when i get my pay. now i've gotten it! *smiles*

took a crowded bus to indoor stadium to meet the others for festival of praise. haven't been to one for roughly two years now. but this time, it was hillsongs. and the crowd was even larger. lynn, jon and i found our way in (almost thought they were going to close the doors due to over-capacity), and found the others sitted somewhere in the front. the atmosphere was Spirit-filled and it was heartwarming to see thousands of Christians come together to sing praises and worship our Lord. the vibrancy of the youths, the energy of the middle-aged, and the deovtion of elderly... all in one voice and one accord to lift the name of our Lord and Saviour.

after that, we took a long walk to kallang mrt. in heels and my presentation outfit, it was almost a killer. made it to the mrt station, and i was close to limping. it was already 11+ and the train was still quite crowded. made it home, tired and warm, but contented because i met with Jesus.

saturday

R & R. not rest and relax. it's Ronny & Rachel's big day! headed over the Lutheran Church of our Redeemer at Duke's Road to attend the church wedding. went early because jon and hao had to go for worship practice, and shan and i had to help lynn and vic with their makeup for the dance item. everyone was excited. there were some jitters around. after all, it was their big day and we wanted the best for them.

the wedding started. the bride was pretty (and the groom was handsome). ben and eunice looked so cute in their vest-suit and white floral skirt respectively. what really caught my eye was the little girls and boys that were present at the wedding. there were all rachel's primary school kids and they were so excited to be there. sitting just diagonally behnd me, they were making sounds in awe like "wah..." and "wow!", and there were all these chatters about how nice the church looked, how pretty their "miss lim" was, and all these amazement truly reflected their innocence. it was indeed so interesting to watch them.

after the loving-ness of the wedding, most of us had to rush back to church for youth service. it was an eventful day. had laughters, singing and most importantly, meeting of hearts and minds through the discussions. got to speak to esther and we shared on how she could reach out to this friend of hers who is having some problems with friends and her own self. praise the Lord that i had the opportunity to minister to her.

sunday
everyone's excited for camp! everyone's spirits are very high. smiles and laughters everywhere. everyone can't wait to go for camp. even service was in high spirits. after lunch, chitter chatter, and everyone boarded the buses and headed for malaysia. there was so much laughters on the bus. it felt so good to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and just retreat into a resort filled with palm tress, coconut tress, lush greenery and peace. there i was... in anticipation of whatever lies ahead.

today
back from camp! and here is the evidence of our enjoyment...

it was a fun-filled and spiritually charged church camp. in the physical sense, despite the migration of flies at our lunch and dinner tables, we had loads of fun bowling, playing pool, swimming (not me!), room-crashing, etc. in the spiritual sense, i am sure everyone has to agree with me that most of us met with Jesus throughout the camp. Tita Pat was truly annointed and the words from her mouth was definitely from our Lord. her words really touched me and spurred me to make a new covenant with God on the last night of the camp. a covenant kept between the Lord and i. it's our little secret.

life is simply amazing. how God allow certain people to walk through your paths and somehow you know that it could only be God. no one else have the power to control such events and it is all to make you stronger in the faith and more grounded in the Word. i thank the Lord for His ministering Spirit who taught me so many new things during the camp. despite the occasional dips in moods, His hand was evident in everything that revolved around me. who else could have made all this nature? who else could have protected us (as we saw a badly crashed car on the highway)? who else could enable us to meet these friends and family around us (out of the 6 billion people in the world)? who else but God.

woke up this morning with a sore throat, a spinning head and an aching body. repercussions of a fun-filled and energy-zapping camp.

the camp was such a long event that i am unable to write all about it. i would do so if i could gather my thoughts. but now, i just don't have enough time because i have to finish up my work and pop over to my client's place to help them settle some stuff and chase them for payment. so i my inspiration comes back tonight, i will blog more about the camp.
