BYEs and HIs

yesterday was ann's last day at ocean sky. what it means to me is simply that i won't have to pop myself there every other day. but i will still be sighted there once in a while when they need help and to make sure that everything is running smoothly.

bernie bought us lunch at yunnan restaurant at tampines mall, and we had our fill with dim sum and the like.

i truly saw the "power of the CEO" yesterday. saw him walking around, and since he knew i wasn't a staff of his company, he smiled and said hi. but just when he turned his back, i could see the faces of everyone around me switch. it was almost like instantaneous! everyone started to seem to be so hardworking, chatters were kept to the minimum and eye-contact was avoided. and as he took his first step out of the room, everything went back to normal! haha...

with such sudden burst of stress in the office, no wonder the sample room has cartoons on the whiteboard (which is changed almost every morning) to keep them feeling happy and positive.

flustered around the office to do all the usual last-minute stuff and to make sure that the users were reminded again and again to practice and build vitual garments in the proper order. said our round of byes and i zipped off to meet the juz havoc team at paragon.

got there half an hour late caused by the jam on the PIE and rush-hour traffic. but only yong and roy were there. the rest were all LATE! decided to have din-din at spaggedies and the crowd almost turned us off. but we realised that it was similar anywhere else, so we stood there in line while waiting for the rest. mike joined us a while later, got a table and ordered our favourite calamari for starters and our main courses. a bit portion of my chix was distributed between mike and yong coz it was just too huge for me. joa and vina joined us as we were halfway through our meal. poor joa ended work close to 8pm, but that's the life of a promo exec in a record company.

couldn't resist and had to order their famous tiramisu..... yums! highly recommended. the next time i past a spaggedies, i might just pop in just to order that! haha. the night ended with us being trigger-happy at the paragon taxi stand, as they waited with me for jon to pick me up. it was just a cosy gathering.... simply great to have friends like them who will always be there for you (no matter how many times you stand them up. haha!) had our share of who's going to married first (without a doubt, roy admitted that it was going to be him!)... so now the talk will swing to who's going to be the last (joa says she may not even get married, and mike thinks that he wouldn't simply because he's always out to have fun). let's see about it...
