from gloomy to chirpy

slept late last night. couldn't drag myself out of bed till 9.45am when an event organizer called. i remotely forgot that it was a work day and people start work at 9am. this is what happens when you work from home and flexible hours.

gloomy morning. it was an overcast friday. multi-tasked the whole afternoon. at any given time, i hate at least 3 msn windows open (and at least 2 were related to some form of work). i was thankful for the cooling breeze but the gloom got to me.

went out with jon in the late afternoon and decided to get some comfort food to pull myself out of the trough. headed for town. paid a visit to tangs, then to mango (where i saw this suede bag i adored but at $69, blah!) and finally pacific plaza. dinner time. decided to pamper ourselves with sushi. walked to genki at forum and the queue diverted us out of the place. walked aimlessly and settled on splurging at nydc. crowded and noisy, but we had a good time talking about work (now and future). i was so full yet we thought of taking a short walk before heading for coffee club for their choc fondue. as we walked, the tummy got heavier and decided the fondue can wait.

slowly walked and admired the n.day booths outside ngee ann city. unknowingly headed for cineleisure. headed for the coffee connoisseur to wait for zihui and jac. concluded that it was a day of pampering ourselves. we were completely splurging on ourselves. to think jon almost order some $12 french coffee. had cakes and coffee (for jon) and tea (for me). sat around, read the edge and act classy. haha. inside joke.

the girls strolled in after a night of shopping. chatted. laughed. chatted some more. snapshot with garfield poster. (jac, i want the photo!) went our separate ways. meeting on tuesday to collect our grad gowns and they are accompanying me to the singapore fashion week show at raffles city.

i just needed time out. i got it. and i feel better. thanks hun! (and the "angels" too...)
